Teams Cloud Calling
Teams Cloud Calling

Microsoft Phone System is a Microsoft product that is delivered from Microsoft 365. It is a back-end feature that is configured using the Microsoft Teams Admin centre. The dialing capability of Microsoft Teams is exposed to you staff via a dialpad that appears (when enabled) on the left of the Microsoft Teams Client.

To enable PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) calling – that is calls to landlines and mobiles – from Microsoft Teams, we connect Microsoft Phone System to our carrier network. The configuration and management are handled by us and delivered to you as a cloud service. Microsoft has built a certified device eco-system around several key vendors, with increasingly more vendors going through certification or marketing Teams compatible devices.  We provide a recommended selection of handsets, headsets and personal conferencing devices that will work with Microsoft Teams.  Some of the vendors we supply include Poly, Yealink, Crestron, Sennheiser and Logitech.

Why Teams?

Teams, as the hub for teamwork, is where people – including people outside your organization – can actively connect and collaborate in real time to get things done. Have a conversation right where the work is happening, whether coauthoring a document, having a meeting, or working together in other apps and services. Teams is the place to have informal chats, iterate quickly on a project, work with team files, and collaborate on shared deliverables.

With Teams you can start with a chat session and in one click share content, then easily one click at a time you can escalate from chat to a voice call, then to a conference call, then to a video conference.  You can easily bring documents, whiteboards and external parties into your collaboration session and record everything for future recall.  The deep integration into Windows and Office 365 coupled with all the essential collaboration tools in one client makes Teams the most compelling application to be released for organisations in a very long time.
